A Former U.S. Seal's Story Gets Told In The Upcoming Film, LONE SURVIVOR

Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Eric Bana, Ben Foster and Emile Hirsch star in director Peter Berg's latest war docudrama, Lone Survivor. The film is based on a the memoirs of Wahlberg's character, U.S.Navy Seal (now former) and Navy Cross recipient, Marcus Luttrell, who published his story in the 2007 book, Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Group ten.

It is stated that while filming the 2012 film, Battleship, Berg followed up on Luttrell's story as a passion project that motivated him to write a screenplay for the film, which will be distributed for Universal Photographs.

Lone Survivor is set for a pick release on December 27, 2013 prior to a wider theatrical release on January 10, 2014.

SYNOPSIS:
Based on the failed mission "Operation Red Wing" which tasked four members of SEAL Team ten on June 28, 2005 to kill Taliban leader Ahmad Shah. They had been swiftly compromised and beneath attack, Marcus Luttrell becoming the only member to survive and evade capture.
