RUROUNI KENSHIN's Live-Action Film Success Earns A Trilogy

According to the hype more than at Anime News Network, the productive adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin has garnered a sequel.. The 1st film of the franchise, Rurouni Kenshin is primarily based on the popularly syndicated series of manga novels by Nobuhiro Watsuki in 1994, which also garnered many animated video and film installments thereafter. It stars Takeru Satoh in the lead part as Kenshin Himura, a Meiji-era wartime assassin-turned-wanderer in 19th century Japan, looking for atonement for his killings, who is forced to use his sword once more to defend a Kendo school, its owner and its surrounding neighborhood against an opium dealing crimeboss, his henchman, and a skilled swordsman from his own past. The film also starred Emi TakeiYu Aoi, Munetaka Aoki, Sanosuke SagaraTaketo Tanaka, Teruyuki Kagawa and Koji Kikkawa and was written for the screen by Kiyomi Fujii and director Keishi Otomo.

The film debuted at the leading of the Japan Box Office upon its premiere on August 25, 2012, reportedly getting earned more than two.five billion yen in its 1st month, and earning $ 60 million dollars worldwide prior to its property release on December 26, 2012.

Production starts this summer covering the Kyoto arc, with Satoh reprising his role. Check out the trailer for the very first film right after the jump.
