Erik Matti's ON THE JOB Gets A New Trailer

This weekend we have a brand new trailer for the Tagalog/English dual-language Filipino crime thriller, On The Job. The film is the most recent feature-length film from writer/director Erik Matti and co-writer Michiko Yamamoto, primarily based on true-life events involving recent stories of political corruption, with politicians tied to mobsters, and organized hits making use of day-release prisoners as assassins.

The film has been making the film festival rounds all summer time so far because its world premiere at the 66th Cannes Film Festival back in May where it was acquired by Nicely Go USA for North American distribution. On The Job has earned several upbeat critiques on the internet ever since, and also won two significant awards at the Pichon International Film Festival in South Korea final month, including an award to co-star Joel Torre for Ideal Actor.

The film is currently scheduled to premiere at Wonderful Fest in Austin this September, leading into its limited theatrical North American and Canadian premiere on September 27, 2013. 2 Guns helmer Baltasar Kormakur is set to generate and direct the remake below his Blueeyes Productions banner, along with XYZ films.

On The Job also stars Gerald Anderson, Piolo Pascual and Joey Marquez, along with Angel Aquino, Shaina Magdayao, Empress, Leo Martinez, Michael De Mesa, Vivian Velez & Rayver Cruz. The film will officially release domestically by way of Star Cinema on August 28, 2013.

An action-packed thriller inspired by the shocking accurate stories of inmates forced by prison officials to secretly carry out assassinations although on official 1-day releases, and a pair of police officers who should navigate the internet of corruption and lies in order to bring those guilty to justice.
