ComingSoon.net has forwarded the most recent press release from Lionsgate and Millennium Films on the production of The Expendables three, which started today in Bulgaria. The press release comes just a quick while after new set photos were unveiled detailing the 1st day of filming.
The press release also arrives just as fan website Expendables Premiere also brought new developments from the Bulgarian press that also spoke of the filming of the film, which included some attainable casting information that indicated Snipes's attainable part as a Somali mobster.
Casting news has run rampant in the past several months with a mixture of confirmations and rumors with regards to who would really star in the film such as Mickey Rourke, Steven Seagal, Milla Jovovich and Nicholas Cage, but it looks as if some of these rumors are officially debunked as of nowadays, in addition to the announcement of the film's official, exciting synopsis.

Lionsgate and Millennium Films will begin principal photography today on THE EXPENDABLES 3, the third installment of THE EXPENDABLES action-thriller franchise, with production shooting on place in Bulgaria and at Nu Boyana Studios in Sofia.
THE EXPENDABLES 3 will feature Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews and Arnold Schwarzenegger returning to their roles in the initial two films with Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford joining the all-star cast along with Kellan Lutz, MMA star Ronda Rousey, welterweight boxing champion Victor Ortiz and Glen Powell.
Patrick Hughes (RED HILL) will direct the film, with veteran Dan Bradley (The BOURNE franchise MISSION Impossible: GHOST PROTOCOL, QUANTUM OF SOLACE) directing the second unit. THE EXPENDABLES three is written by Creighton Rothenberger & Katrin Benedikt, who previously teamed on OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN, and Sylvester Stallone. Avi Lerner, Kevin King-Templeton, Danny Lerner and Les Weldon are making THE EXPENDABLES 3. Trevor Quick, Boaz Davidson and John Thompson are executive generating. Lionsgate will release THE EXPENDABLES 3 in North America and the UK on August 15, 2014.
In THE EXPENDABLES three, Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the group comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and somebody who Barney was forced to kill… or so he believed. Stonebanks, who eluded death once ahead of, now is creating it his mission to end The Expendables -- but Barney has other plans.
